American Idol Michael Lynch 2010 “This Woman’s Work” Performance (VIDEO). Last night, the top 8 men performed on American Idol. Many say that the men’s performances were far more interesting than the top 8 ladies (with the exception of Crystal Bowersox, of course). Michael Lynch has been cited as one of the men who may go all the way.
Michael Lynch’s This Woman’s Work was a big hit on American Idol Season 9 as Top 8 guys from the show sang to impress the audience and win their votes to be in American Idol final 12. Michael Lynche aka Big Mike moved the audience with his amazing rendition of Maxwell’s version of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work.”
Lynch’s performance moved Idol judge Kara DiGuardi to tears. She couldn’t contain her tears and noted how the song matched Lynch’s life almost perfectly. Michael’s wife gave birth to their child during the Hollywood auditions, and here he is trying to go all the way. This song was about respect for the woman that he loves.
The best part of the song was the last note, which Lynch delivered clean and crisp and held for 10-15 seconds. The audience rushed to their feet after the massive man finished his performance.
It was also Michael Lynche’s choice of song to perform that has people talking. Kate Bush created an instant classic with This Woman’s Work it was featured in the movie She’s Having a baby and later covered by Maxwell. Michael Lynche’s version of This Woman’s Work is certainly a stand out.
